Issue 4

issue 4 coverFor the “Keeping It Real Issue,” we enlisted the help of a guest editor The Great One, a standup comic who keeps it so real that he is virtually unknown. LA-based cartoonist Mike Hollingsworth designed our very first color cover. The issue features: Bob Odenkirk, Lewis Black, Patton Oswalt, Neil Hamburger, Maria Bamford, Paul Krassner, Eddie Brill, BD Freeman, Dave Anthony, Killing My Lobster, and music acts Fatigo and That Mad Ahab.

Issue 3

issue 3 coverWe put a hot chick and a barcode on the cover of this issue and titled it, “The Look At Us, We Look Like Everybody Else Issue.” In our office (which was just Ron’s bedroom), we giggled about how this would be our tongue-in-cheek ’sellout’ issue. However, we’re not sure how many people got the joke (see Handwritten Rejection). Still it’s a great issue with: Dave Attell, Zach Galifianakis, Amy Sedaris, Robert Schimmel, Jim Breuer, Nick Swardson, Greg Fitzsimmons, Matt Sharp from Weezer and Rentals fame.

Issue 2

issue 2 coverFor this issue we actually took the time to learn the basics of magazine design and upped it to 64 pages — because we thought we had more to say. It’s titled, “The Issue About Issues,” so there is also hard-hitting articles about Nerd Rock, Private Schools vs. Public Schools, Magic Johnson Beating Up AIDS, Casual Sex, and the real story behind High School Debate Teams. It also features: Todd Barry, Adam Ferrara, Josh Sneed, Chelsea Peretti, Ritch Duncan,  The Bigger Lovers, MC Paul Barman, Rabbi Darkside, ‘Nese, Adam Green, artist Adam Green, and Totally False People.

Issue 1

issue 1 coverOur very first attempt at making a magazine way back in January 2003. This issue features 32 pages of horrible graphic design, youthful wit, and half-cooked interviews with standup comics David Cross, Doug Stanhope, Blaine Capatch, Jenee; writers Beth Lisick, John McNally; bands Mike TV, Go Betty Go, Arlo, Billion Stars; and artists Brad Abelson from “The Simpsons” and James Kochalka.
